Life on Grayton Beach

As one of South Walton’s most laid back communities, Grayton Beach is also the oldest, having been established in the early 19th Century and celebrating its 100th birthday in 1990.

With a mix of old and new, funky and fresh, Grayton Beach is a great place to look back into history and reminisce about the way life used to be. Fortunately, things have not changed much in Grayton Beach over the years. As you walk through this laid-back community, it is easy to lose yourself and forget about the hustle and bustle of your normal life. Times appear simpler as the narrow, tree-lined roadways guide you along a canopy of Magnolias and Oaks.

While it may appear to be a sleepy, quaint getaway, Grayton Beach boasts a very vibrant day and night life. From unique beach shops to locales like the iconic Red Bar, this beach town offers something for everyone! Grab your dog and take a walk on the beach. Dip your toes in the glassy, emerald waters so unique to this stretch of the Gulf Coast. Head uptown with friends or family for a day of shopping or an evening of socializing. Stay a day, and you will want to spend your entire life in this funky neighborhood.

With its trails, cabins, and unspoiled beauty, Grayton Beach State Park is the gem of Grayton Beach and probably the community’s most notable claim to fame with almost 2,000-acres of adventure. Goodbye February, hello March! The weather is warming up on Highway 30A, and it is no surprise to see the beach towns gearing up for the spring crowds. Beach goers are excited to relax on their favorite, white sand beaches, while locals and visitors alike are feeling alive with the positive energy that radiates on this stretch of the Gulf Coast. Whether you live on the coast or are on vacation, 30A offers a number of fun events this March to keep you in the coastal spirit.

Taste of the Race with Chef Emeril Lagasse

Do you love fitness, but also love to eat? Then this event is just for you! Tomorrow, March 2, the 4th Annual Taste of the Race will kick off a fun race weekend. You will have the chance to join world-renowned Chef Emeril Lagasse in person and enjoy delicious meals from the magician himself. Top the evening off with complimentary drinks from Wine World and Grayton Beer and live music!

Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Race

The excitement  of the first weekend in March continues with the Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Race. If you are participating in the half marathon or 5K on March 4, hopefully you remember to not get too full on all the amazing food at Friday’s event! Featuring a flat course and beautiful views of the beach and dunes, this race is one of the coast’s most anticipated weekends of the year. It is a great way to get in a workout while supporting the Seaside School on 30A.

Art in the Park

Food parties or running not your thing? No worries. There are events for everyone along 30A. Art in the Park in WaterColor is a fun event that attracts artists from across the Southeast, and is a great way for homeowners, locals, and visitors to explore a variety of art in an outdoor setting and enjoy live music. The laid-back atmosphere is the perfect way to enjoy a weekend in this beautiful beach town.
