Blue Mountain Beach is arguably one of 30A’s least populated communities. Although there is no actual mountain to be seen, the name Blue Mountain Beach, at least according to legend, comes from the blue Lupine wildflower that covers the “mountainous” sand dunes. It’s said that at dawn, the Lupine flower would create a haze and appear as mountains. Known for its mix of 60s-era cottages and its modern accommodations, Blue Mountain Beach’s lifestyle can be as simple or glamorous as your heart desires!
With a mix of old and new, funky and fresh, Grayton Beach is a great place to look back into history and reminisce about the way life used to be. Walking through the community, its easy to lose yourself and forget about the hustle and bustle of your normal life as the narrow, tree-lined roadways guide you along a canopy of Magnolias and Oaks. With its trails, cabins, and unspoiled beauty, Grayton Beach State Park is the gem of Grayton Beach with almost 2,000-acres of adventure. While it may appear to be a sleepy, quaint getaway, Grayton Beach boasts a very vibrant nightlife, centered on the iconic Red Bar.
Known for its tight-knit sense of community, its Gulf breezes and its picket fences, Seaside is the beach town of beach towns. A shared dream of a “simple, beautiful life” led to the rise of the iconic town, with a friendly vibe that sees people walking, shopping, and talking in their community. Seaside experienced mainstream fame when it was featured in the 1997 film “The Truman Show,” featuring Jim Carrey. While the film may have boosted Seaside’s popularity, the small-town feel, friendly smiles, and sense of community is what won people over.
